REDUCE SALT & SUGAR INTAKE.

Why reduce salt? Too much salt can lead to feeling bloated, increase risk of cardiovascular disease, swelling, stomach cancer and makes you crave more salty foods.

Why reduce suger? Too much sugar can cause weight gain, increases risk of diabetes, increase your risk of heart disease, can cause acne, makes you age faster, can increase depression, drains your energy and can lead to a fatty liver. Photo credit: Kaboompics .com

Buy a steamer instead of boiling

I bought this steamer on Amazon.com for about $22.00 and I am obsessed with it! It has a section to put your vegetables in and another section to cook rice in.  The steamer keeps all the vitamins & nutrients of the vegetables.  (This is super important!)  

For all mom's out there...your kids will love how tasty the veggies come out!  I mash the vegetables with sweet potatoes (looks like mashed potatoes) and add some salt, butter and a tiny bit of olive oil.  D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!

GET YOUR SLEEP IN

 Get your sleep in! Getting a good night sleep is very important for your health! It's recommended to have a night-time routine that will help calm your mind and get you ready to get your zzzz's in.  Some rituals to do before bed are... taking a hot bubble bath with calming salts, reading, listening to music, praying, etc. Anything that works for you!
